I found this lovely Letterpress Cookie Set at the online store Yuppie Chef, and we tried them out on these heart shaped Cookies for Valentines Day. The set comes with three cutters in different shapes and all the letters of the alphabet, as well as a few sayings already spelt out for you. All you have to do is fit the letters into the cutter and press down into your cookie dough, and voila its printed on your cookie.
Could there be anything more delicious than chocolate and fudge? If you have a sweet tooth you will know that a velvety bar of fudge, or a slab of chocolate, will do the trick and help your craving. But can you imagine adding the two together. They make a dazzling duo of creamy, caramely, chocolatey heaven. These tiny sweet treats are small enough to satisfy your sugar craving without over indulging. They are made in little foil chocolate cases, so you can pop them in your mouth in one go, without the risk of being caught out eating chocolate AGAIN !!!!!!The best part about making these, is that the foil cases are so small that it makes dozens of them – which means more to eat. If you dont have small cases, pour the fudge into greased baking tin and when it has hardened, cover with chocolate.
I know everyone is dieting and trying to shed the excess kilos from the festive period, but this is my entry into Pasta Please Challenge for January, run by Jacqueline from Tinned Tomatoes. This months theme is “Cheese” and vegetarian, to fit in with Jacqui’s vegetarian blog.
Our weather is unbelievably hot at the moment, and being in the kitchen is not ideal. So my favourite tropical fruit salad seemed the perfect thing to make for this weather. There’s nothing quite like fruit in the hot summer months, not to mention that it is packed with vitamins and minerals. Tropical fruit is no longer reserved for those lucky enough to live in the Tropics, as supermarkets are making them more readily available to us all.
Bread …..could you ever imagine living without it? Delicious lunchtime sandwiches, a slice of toast in the morning, rolls filled with turkey and salad, or just chunks of it to mop up thick gravy, the staple for so many lives. But what if you couldn’t eat it, like so many who are allergy afflicted to wheat and yeast.
As the year draws to an end, I am so grateful to those of you who have supported me and followed my progress with Shades of Cinnamon. Six months into my blogging, and I have just scratched the surface of the thousands of delicious recipes still to be created, made, tested and eaten. I am loving the opportunity of improving my photographic skills at the same time, and hopefully next year Shades of Cinnamon will be bigger, brighter and overflowing with food made with love for you.
I don’t make cake pops for the simple reason that I don’t have to. Why would any one in their right mind make them when they live in the same town as Candice Courtney of So Whipped. These beautiful little Christmas Pops are her creation.
Candice makes the most stunning gourmet cakes, cupcakes and cake and chocolate pops for weddings, birthdays, baby showers, or any occasion you may be having. She doesn’t only make cakes but if you are needing cookies, meringues, or macaroons , she can do that too.
Lets face facts, the year is almost over and once again Christmas is upon us, and its time to think of all those Christmas Gifts that you still have to buy. What better way to share your love, than by making personal gifts for those close to you. The days are gone when we have to spend all our hard earned cash on gifts to impress. A gift from the heart is much more meaningful, and spending a morning in the kitchen sure beats the shopping malls filled with crowds of last minute shoppers and Christmas Carols ringing out from every store. These chocolate brownies can be made weeks ahead, and frozen until you need them.
