Looking into the New Year 2015

Although the  falling rain may dampen the spirits of the New Year revelry, it brings with it a fresh clear air and the onset of new growth and life.  The New Year brings a chance to reflect on the last year and improve on it,  and to move forward into the future of exciting new opportunities and experiences.  The chance of a new start and  fresh beginning always has a certain allure to me.

I am so excited at the prospect of a new year filled with travel with family and friends, visiting my children and their beautiful babies in Australia and America, experiencing new sights, food and adventure . And in between all that important stuff, I am so grateful for the opportunity of experimenting with new recipes and flavours, and being able to share my passion with you.  Shades of Cinnamon will be moving forward with a new look in the not too distant future .  I am hoping it will be more colourful, varied and interactive, and that you will enjoy it as much as I enjoy bringing it to you.

Tomorrow is the first blank page of a 365 day book.  My goal is to write a good one,  how about you.  Share your goals with me in the comments below.

No sugar for me next year. I am not sure how long that will last but I am going to attempt it for awhile

I am hoping to start my own food truck this year. I have lots to think about but it is my ultimate goal. Happy new year

We’re in Vero Beach, Florida, enjoying a family holiday tradition where we compete for best dinner. Food Shopping in a new place is exciting (and terrifying) but the produce dictates, as does the holiday kitchen. We’ve done this in Newport Beach, Tuscany, Umhloti Beach and now here. We’re so grateful to have the opportunity to be together with our children, their cousins, our siblings and in laws. I love how food brings us together in the kitchen with love, creativity, debate and, of course, wine.
All our best wishes to you and your family for 2015!
